Question for Readers About Mushrooms
Blog readers...
When I was a kid every once in a blue moon we'd have papanki (sp?) mushrooms.
I couldn't find anything in a search. So I am either spelling it wrong or it is the best kept secret.
Anyone know what I am talking about? And does anyone have further information on these mushrooms?

my grandfather has been picking 'papanki' mushrooms since he was a kid. papanki is the ukrainian or russian name for these mushrooms. though i'm not sure the english name and have always wanted to know in order to properly identify them.
